The team that visited England in 1966 is still remembered here in Middlesbrough, as our ground at Ayresome Park was their home base in the tournament. Their progress to the quarter-final stage at Goodison Park against Portugal was a credit to their desire to succeed. To qualify from a group involving Italy and Russia was a great credit to them.
